Local poet, liturgist, and former Big Blue Marble staffer Elliott batTzedek returns to our upstairs reading room to present A Necklace of White Pearls: poems written by Israeli Jewish lesbian writer Shez and translated by batTzedek. A Necklace of White Pearls is a poem cycle that both celebrates and and dismantles stories of God and Abraham in order to convey the experience of surviving incest.

In addition to having been a long-time bookseller at Big Blue Marble, Elliott batTzedek is a Pushcart Prize-nominated poet/translator. Her work appears in: American Poetry Review, Massachusetts Review, Lilith, The Broadkill Review, Hole in the Head Review, Naugatuck River Review, and Hunger Mountain Review.
