David Sherman presents his collection of mystery short stories, in which homicide sleuth Inspector Macmurphy tries to solve six separate murder cases — including one that takes place in Philadelphia. Akin to the format of “Columbo,” the reader knows the identity of the killer in each story, while Macmurphy goes about sifting through potential clues, trying to solve the crime and bring the killer to justice. However, many cases that end up on Macmurphy’s desk are not as straightforward as they seem. The question is, can he find the criminal? Join Macmurphy on his thrilling adventures as he deploys his award-worthy brilliance to make sure that justice is served… always.

David Sherman graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Commerce and Engineering, majoring in Accounting and eventually becoming a CPA. Despite a consistent enthusiasm for creative writing, his first work to be published was non-fiction: Sherman and Howard Jaffe co-authored The Philadelphia Flyers Encyclopedia, published in 2003.
He never cherished a fictional character created by his pen more than Inspector Macmurphy, a heroic police homicide detective inspired by the television show “Columbo,” which he praises as the best of all time. The determination of Macmurphy to solve a murder case is second to none, and the character had staying power strong enough to be resurrected following a lengthy hiatus: Sherman originally wrote Macmurphy stories in comic book and manuscript form during his teenage years.
